Very nice job. Nothing is really necessary on each side. Perhaps your eyes just haven't adjusted to the change yet & are asking for more width. Give it more time.

Can you show more of the walls on each side of the entry? Hard to tell how big these walls are.

The rug under the dining table should be be big enough so that when you scoot the chairs out to enter or exit the table the back chair legs will stay on the rug. You can figure adding 48 inches to the length and width of your table to get minimum size for rug. If table is 4 feet wide then add 48 +48 then rug should be 8 feet wide. Say table is 8 feet long then add 48 inches or 4 feet to 8 feet and your rug should be 12 feet long. So you could look for a rug that's 9 x 12.

Very nice, perhaps a small console table to the left about one foot deep with a same size wall mirror above it. Place a bowl or tray on the console for keys for when you come in. It could act as an entry piece.

You could add some trim on the walls to create "shadow boxes" and paint them the (white) trim color. Give depth to the area with no obstructions. Also an inexpensive way to jazz up an area.
