Many areas restrict fence heights and type of fence construction. Check with city hall. In my area, a front yard fence can't be more than 3 or 4 feet high, so purely decorative.

A security system might be more appropriate than a fence.

As for a music studio, also check with city hall about noise ordinances, if any. You may need to add professional soundproofing.

Not quite clear what your goal is..what do you mean by secure that front room?...also the front of your house is sort of set up perfectly for a enclosed courtyard for secluded outdoor living...does that interest you?..is that space needed for parking?...

Tear up that ice plant & take out the pruned boxwoods. Neither fit the style of your house. Plant more flowy bunch grasses, native flowering shrubs (where are you located, btw?), and perhaps small trees like western redbud or dogwood.
