Fireplace "refresh"

Added some molding to fireplace and repainted whole thing in white. Entire room was a remodeled a bit w/ new maple floors, paint and furniture.

summer, the OP is out of space on the fireplace sides of the rods, not much widening can happen.

raising can happen, and if you put the drapes on rings they will then be the right length for the new height, and they will open all the way. you can even put the first ring on the outside of the mounting bracket to get the maximum width without actually going wider.

if you'd like your drapes to stay open more, you can use little chip clips on the back side of the rod to keep them from smunching in to the middle.

I would extend your curtain rods so your Windows look more open and in better proportion to the fire place a d I would raise them even higher. looks much better
