If only you were local I would hire you in a second! Can you please provide source info for the following:

backsplash
countertop
drawer hardware
flooring
cabinet/island paint color
fireplace stone

This is exactly what I want to do for my remodel but unfortunately I am in the states.

What are your thoughts on using the Ikea doors and painting versus buying hardwood doors and painting?

Thanks so much in advance - this process is so challenging and you have a fabulous eye.

Thanks. I don't have all the info you've requested but I do have some.

The backsplash is marble (don't have the name of it ) and it came from The Tile Store in Toronto. The countertops are Caesarstone "Frosty Carrina." The drawer and door pulls came from Lee Valley Tools in Toronto. The flooring - I forget! It's a gray-stained, satin, prefinished maple. The wall cabinet color is Benjamin Moore OC-20 "Pale Oak" at 10% saturation and in an eggshell finish, mixed in lacquer. The island color is Sherwin-Williams "Functional Gray" 7024 and in an eggshell finish, mixed in lacquer. The fireplace stone is "Silver Fox" ledgestone.

By all means use the stock IKEA "Bjorket" birch shaker doors and drawer fronts and get them custom-lacquered. No need for custom-made doors. It is an inexpensive door but well-made, and takes paint well. You will save some expense if you get the doors and drawers painted to match the stock IKEA "Forbattra White" (not "Forbattra Off-White" as it is too yellow) cover panels, refrigerator panels, deco strip and toekicks (in this kitchen, all these pieces were also custom-painted, which added to the expense).

WOW! This is so beautiful! Would you mind sharing more details of how you 'hacked' the 36" base cabinet for the double ovens? I am so intrigued!

I used the side gables from the stock 30x24x90 pantry cabinet frame to make the sides, and cut white melamine particleboard pieces for the floor, top and interior fixed shelves, and a 36x90 piece of Masonite for the back (and all assembled together with glue and screws). Then I installed a pair of 18x15 doors on the top and a deep drawer with a 36x15 drawerfront on the bottom. The trim around the ovens themselves was done with pieces of IKEA cabinet cover panels.

How have your center-mounted drawer pulls held up? We are looking to mount our pulls on the Bjorket drawers the same way. but worry about wear (the panel is only 1/4 inch thick)

@Laura Marsh - The centre panel of the Bjorket door is pretty much the same thickness as you would find in any other five-piece Shaker kitchen cabinet door. So go ahead and mount the handles there.
