Good news everyone! A friend brought over his 10 ft. ladder and we discovered that I can reach inside and change the bulbs, etc. if I hang it at 9 or 10 ft. (on the bottom). I think it will also look fine and not close the room in too much at that height. I will keep the fan. :) Thank you all for your ideas and help!
