2016 April Block Lotto

This lotto is open to all and new quilters are encouraged to participate. You will learn much and have fun doing it. Even if you don't like the current month's block think about doing at least one. The winner will appreciate your efforts!

Here's the drill:

- you can send 1, 2 or 3 blocks

- all blocks must measure 12.5inches x 12.5 inches with no more than 1/4" variation please. With your blocks include name, mailing address, forum name and $1 to cover postage for the winning blocks.

- if possible, either attach your name to the back of each block or write your name in the seam allowance with a fabric pen so the winner knows who made the block (this is not a requirement, just a request)

- all blocks received by the last day of the month will be included in the lotto drawing

- you will have 1, 2 or 3 chances to win, depending on how many blocks you've sent in.

Blocks are to be mailed to Linda. She will arrange the collection and dispersal to the winner. If you need her mailing address, you may request it by sending her a message at linda at schultz-assoc.com

There are 3 for April and 3 for May on their way. That should get me through vacation and back to sewing in time for the June block.

I feel like I win the lottery whenever I go to the mailbox! Today I got 3 for April and 3 for May from both Carol in Nevada, and Linda in Texas. Nice work, ladies. Thanks for joining in.

Here's one April block...will mail this weekend. In doing this block, I discovered my stash is seriously short of yellow and light blues...oh darn, I may need to do some fabric shopping!

Hooray! I finally got some quilting done, Okay, it was only one block, but at least it's done.

Lois, every quilt starts with one block!

If you look at the photo posted on 4/1, to me the bottom block is different.

Oh rats! As many times as I check the placement, something is bound to go astray!

    Good eye there.

    They look great Beth.

I got blocks from both Val and Lois who are working ahead. So much energy! Thanks gals.

And, another big packet today from Jennifer in Georgia. She's done them all the way through August. Way to go, Jennifer!

I don't have Beth's yet but I will draw a name since Beth asked not to be included in this month's drawing anyway. The winner will have to wait a couple of days till Beth's come before I mail them. We should have 25 overall.

With that said ---------- the name I've drawn is Linda in Texas! Congratulations, Linda.

    Congrats, Linda!

Linda - Congratulations! 25 blocks, that's going to make one great quilt!

Well, 24 and one misfit! Maybe it can go on the back.

Congratulations, it will be a nice quilt.

Congratulations, Linda! Have fun with your winnings.

Theresa, I loved your misfit block. Think of what a cool diagonal pattern the dark blue would make across the quilt. I think you have created something clever and new.

    Congrats, Linda!

Thank you all so very much. I'm looking forward to seeing the awesome work of all of the marvelous quilters in this group. I am currently out of town - so it will be a wonderful surprise package when I return home. I know it will be beautiful when everything is pulled together. I'm one lucky gal.

We have finally arrived back home and a wonderful package of colorful blocks were nestled in my stack of mail. I have many projects that need some attention and the new set of blocks will be added to my list of "to do". Thank you so much for all your contributions and hard work. Linda H.
