I attached different pics of window treatments. It really depends on your taste and what you want. (frame your windows, keep them basic etc.) I think a rug under your table would be a great way to add color(if you're not opposed to that) and art always gives a space character.. What you chose should reflect how you want, how you would like it to fee, and look as far as amount of color used. Bold,serene...etc. definetley lower the light but keep it where you can easily view others at the table. Sorry for the size, I couldn't crop them. : /

I also agree that you need some artwork where the clock is. Since you already have blinds on your windows, valances would work and they would be beautiful!

From what I see you have no room for a rug

( the light fixture wld have to be turned) but if it is feasible direction wise, and if it looks okay, turn your table where the side with 2 chairs are facing away,and towards the window. That's if you want a rug and can't find one to fit your space. You shouldn't hv too much trouble finding one, but.... Just a thought with regards to the dining area. : )
