With furniture that dark, I would go with a lighter carpet.

If you go with the lighter it'd need to be a pretty close match for the walls. But I think light will look better with your darker furniture.

How about a colored rug? The hardwood flooring is enough on the dark side.

I like the darker one- Do you have a lot of light in the room you are putting it in? It looks like the lighter one you are trying to match it to close to the wall color

@Imperial Flooring -- I have a medium north facing window and a nearly wall-sized east-facing window. So, I think I have moderate lighting. The lighter swatch is very close to the wall color, but that wasn't intentional. I'm leaning toward the darker one, but not by much. Truth be told, my only hesitation with picking the dark carpet is the dark wood furniture, which is very dark. The first picture shows a piece of dark furniture. The new furniture is very similar in color. I guess it boils down to, among other things, choosing between carpet contrast with the furniture or the wall...

I think you need to look at this long term. You will more likely paint in the future than replace the carpet, so I'd think about which rug will give you more flexibility for any future change. Having said that, I like the lighter carpet. It gives a soft, neutral look that I admire for a bedroom than a huge contrast.

i think they are both too dark -- imagine them over the whole space! Yikes. I would go lighter maybe a little warmer gray.

I think the bedroom is a good place to go a little darker. The darker looks nice; at least with the wall color. Dark gray is in and looks good with dark furniture too.

The darker looks nice with the paint but ultimately, I think you should choose a lighter color to contrast with your furniture. The light carpet sample is too close to the wall color. Would you consider a carpet with a neutral pattern like this?
