Is there any way you can soften the edges and give it some curve so it looks a little more natural?

Yes, you could make a curved patio from the door to the driveway and widen it out again at the sidewalk. You could make a curved low wall around the front and maybe do a raised garden bed inside, or integrated bench. Lot of options if you can get some good lines going. More landscaping near the house could help too.

Do the double wide driveway, and use some landscaping to soften the look of it. Try a quarter circle from the edge of the house along the outside of the sidewalk along the left side of the driveway. Make it a bed of flowers with a lot of color. Use some of the driveway pavers as an edge for the bed.

How about a single width driveway that widens out for two cars to park?

Single wide driveway that widens - don't do that. It'll make getting in and out much harder than it needs to be. There is nothing wrong with a double width driveway as situated. It is common and will not affect the "aesthetics" of that house. It is completely standard with that style of house.
