Every one is lovely - I need Cindy's heart for a friend. hibiscusmaniac, do you do propagation? If you do, I would love to trade for one. I've done cuttings of several of my hisbicus and some have rooted.

ive tried to root some cuttings but none have rooted. followed directions on utube.but it didnt work for me.

it might be one that doesn't root - i know its only rarely available for sale at HVH.

been trying to get one for a while now.

Wow - I've never seen such gorgeous hibiscus - I have one plant and it's really pretty but not even close to yours.

Can you provide the heights on those? I'm looking for something I can plant fairly close together and about 7' tall. Do you think they could be an effective screen for my fence (doesn't have to be really dense. I have a pool and would like to reduce visibility.

Hibiscus can reach a height of 7' if planted in the ground. Look here for some pics of a garden in Hollywood,California

We had a blizzard here today.

Thank you all for posting your photos of these exquistive blooms. I only grow hardy hibiscus as the tropical are not hardy in this area. While I occassionally check through the forum to see these blossoms it has been awhile. Last night my brain dug them out of my memory to enrich my dreams with these colorful blooms. Happy dream!

I got it from a local nursery in Houston. They sell a nice selection of Cajun Hibiscus.

I dont see stuff like that here.

How do you get them to do so well? I live in south Texas too and it seems like the prettiest ones are the hardest to keep going. You can leave the plain red ones and they grow forever in any conditions haha

Well thanks to this thread I will be the proud owner of two hibiscus plants in a few weeks. I wasn't even planning on buying one ever! I refuse to take responsibility for myself, I blame all of you and your beautiful pictures!!!! Lol

WOW! and WOW!...I didn't know there were so many varities . My fav from your photos is Rainbow Sherbet.

hibiscusmaniac, do you ever grow your hibiscus in containers? If so, what soil do you use? I'm getting two little ones soon but I'm not sure the best way to container grow them and they're too small for in-ground, I think. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
