My question: Is it possible to do a pattern with Luxury Vinyl or Pergo floors like the wood floor in my picture. The darker wood boarders all around the room and we were hoping to do the same with the adjoining room but is this possible if it isn't real wood. The other floor has to come up because we had a burst pipe and a majority of the subfloor is damaged in that room.

I know real wood is better but just take a look at the beating real wood takes with our family. We want a floor that looks nice without feeling stressed about our kid destroying it. Our hope is when they are older (like a lot older) we replace with real wood. For the time being we are thinking we will get the wood floors we currently have refinished and put in something with a wood floor look to match.

Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome.
