I'm the same way with not wanting clutter. Do you feel anti-clutter enough to just let it be as it currently is?

Also, I'd like to get more context. Could you post a couple other pics showing this space from farther back? It would be helpful to know what else is adjacent. Thank you.

Thanks for the context. That helps. It seems to be along a traffic flow from one space to the next. I'd be inclined to either leave it or put something skinny and curvy in the corner -- kinda like what I've suggested above. With the other right-angled furniture nearby, something with some curve or organic character would provide softening visual-interest.

The corner is 3'4" length and 2'4" wide

I would leave it as it is. If you add a corner rack or something it will be too cluttered with the hall table right there.

how about 2 pieces of long skinny artwork that go together....or 2 long skinny mirrors??? Also if you used the mirrors you could just put one tall plant in that corner in a nice pot. Or a tall simple urn with some organic like curly willow or bamboo sticks/poles? Or look for a corner chair?

large mirror leaning against one side? Or a large panoramic print? A cool old ladder?

Or a simple folding standing screen that you like?

I suggested the plant stand before I saw the third pic. I think leaving it as-is is the best way to go.

You're gonna think I'm being funny, but I have the same thing next to the door to my bedroom. I have my cat's scratching post there and an older framed floral painting hanging above on the larger wall with a larger frame around that framed painting. Then above those is a small piece of metal scroll work.

Along with leaving it alone, I see a few other possibilities. Paint it the same color as the molding to bring it 'out', or adhere two mirrors, crown to baseboard, entirely covering the space, or maybe a lemon tree. Light requirements would be a consideration. The pot would be important. This is a great one. Or you could be guided by the saying, "If you can't hide it, celebrate it" and completely cover it with photographs.

I would prefer you had your little table in that nook than on the wall it is on now. It will feel more spacious and give better flow to that hallway to the other side of the house. (looks like you would need a new smaller one though, but it may be worth it).

You can also remove the little blue painting from the wall next to the beautiful door (just so there is some breathing space), and put an antique ladder in this little nook area, just leaning on the wall. If that is unsafe, have it look like it is leaning but attach it from behind. Then either leave it as is to enjoy the patina, or drape throws, magazines or at Christmas some decorations on it.

How about 3 pieces of corner shelving that mounts flat to the wall with something colourful displayed on them to play up the artwork on the adjacent walls.

Get 3 or four 8x10 picture frames & mats and purchase a few large landscape calendars. Switch out the art/photographs from the calendars seasonally to add interest ie snowy winter scenes, spring flowering trees, summer shady trees & gardens, and fall harvested fields.

Maybe angled wall mounted glass shelves Then you would have a built in type curio that could be used to display special colorful items without clutter as glass transparency would reflect not darken area.

I would remove the small table from the living room wall and use it in another room of the house, as it seems to interfere with traffic flow, as noted previously.
Have a triangular table built for your corner.
Remove the small bright blue artwork and the other art from the kitchen wall and hang them on the niche wall that is visible from the kitchen. Leave the kitchen wall with the door plain.

I think the table is fine there. It looks like it's far enough back so as not to interfere with the traffic. nealirn if you have about 42" between the table and chair, it's fine.

Tall bamboo in nice pot. Would just fit in that corner. I would also get bigger pic for over that table, with more color. If you have Z Galleries. It is great for all kinds of stuff. I have another idea for corner a big tall over 36" pot in color try red. Put big 2" round bamboo stock. Use 5or6 make they are 5feet tall them selfs. I notice you have zebra chairs, would be a nice touch.

I work with home's, and I do see the way this could be a problem, or a great accent• I would do a very small width corner floating shelves, maybe 6 or so, You would just have to do the math with the angle. Also a accent light You could put books, cleaned line boxes for storage or plants. I would mix it. Just my thought I have the same odd spaced area that if you put something small it floats add a few extras it is way busy, or do something larger in the corner it could be to much. So this is what I am doing.

Some birch sticks in a decorative tall vase would fill the space without clutter.

Lessee...Something Special, Different, Gotcha... Self Illuminated Sculpture 80 inches tall It will light up a 10 x 20 room easily, but will not be hard on the eyes. Very soothing as the colors change in fact. The lights can be made to stay one color or fade, or flash.
