I need help with ideas to make our bonus room useable. We want to use it as a TV hangout/gameroom/art room for our kids, but also need it to function occasionally as a guest bedroom. I sketched out a built in closet in one corner (we have no basement and need storage), a sleeper sofa, game table and desk area. It just doesn't look cohesive to me! The corner by the stairs houses an air conditioning unit that can't be moved. The stair wall is currently a half-wall, but we plan to extend it to the ceiling to help with noise reduction to our downstairs living area. I'm looking for layout ideas and wondering if it would be better to spend money on built-ins instead of building a closet. I'm also looking for flooring ideas - something easy to clean (imagine the art mess), noise dampening and coordinates with wood we plan to install downstairs.
