Is this the actual bedroom we see in this photo? And have you
already purchased all pieces of this set?

A good start, but maybe a little TOO MUCH of a good thing.

In other words there is too much of the same color, the rug above with several shown by m.a.p. interiors is great. Ith has several colors that go together, if you had this or a simmilar rug you could then do the walls and drapes the yellow or green and replace 2 of the bed pillows with one of those colors.

Introducing additional colors will make the room more alive and playful for a teenager.

Here are some ideas of color combinations from My Perfect Color website. I'll attach some more.

I did not go through all of them. They are Benjamin Moore paints.

@kklinton~ what is the damask pattern you have above? A fabric sample?

The problem is that the colors on the bed are not colors for teenagers. They are so severe and "triste". Everything matches too much. Get some fun and vibrant colors in there, use a linen bed skirt which doesn't look so well ironed. Use different kinds of pillows with fun patterns and colors and toss that bedding!

The bottom one.

Put this same color up on the ceiling and floor to ceiling window treatments. Warm gray walls.

What does she want? It's her room after all...

Did she chose that? I'd be surprised. I think its nice but i haven't been a teen for a long time.

Yes, all fabrics are JoAnn

Thank you all for your great ideas. I will be back after work respond to your questions (sorry it's taking so long!)
@Edits, that is a picture of what my daughter chose. Haven't bought anything yet.

If the comforter is what she loves and it is in your budget, I would definitely buy it. At this point in their life teenagers need to be able to learn to make decisions and have control [ and this is definitely one area that would be a safe one}

I would also include a bulletin board so she can put up dates of class assignments , photos of friends etc. Look on Etsy.com for some in decorative frames. Just input what you are looking for in their search engine.. They also have peel able vinyl stickers with inspirational sayings that are great! I put a link to an inspirational saying you might like. I have no affiliation with the people that own this shop and have never purchased anything from them; but I love what it says. I do have a photography shop on Etsy.com though. It is nancyhehmann

I agree with gray walls, either warm or cool, they would really work well with the color of the comforter.

Robyn Karp design is stellar :)
J.

Sheer white window coverings and silvery accents to balance the heavy plum color. One of those mirrored night stand or vanity for that Hollywood look. Pops of teal or turquoise.

Has she looked at potterybarnteen.com? You may want to have her look at that before you purchase this one.
