I like the clock you have chosen because you have a lot of space on that wall! If you do not want the clock, your other choices are a large piece of art or mirrors, which some people do not want so that they can't see themselves eating.

Thx Bev! This is the mirror and light fixture we are thinking of. If we do the clock, I have no idea what light fixture would look good. Thoughts?

Love that idea too Margo. Our house is quite small so not sure if it would look busy. But that is the wall you see when you walk in and look down the house.

The light fixture you have pictured would work because they are the same style as the clock. Here are some other ideas:

I would recommend you change the art over the mirrored cabinet to a decorative mirror, add a larger piece of art on the feature wall, (no clocks) and select a chandelier that is of a finish that doesn't fade into the window and drapes.

Thanks Bev. I really like the globe style chandelier and I am leaning towards black metal in the light fixture because I like the contrast. Do you think that the circles in the light fixture would be too much with a circle mirror or clock? Thanks PureMichigan. I was thinking that the clock would be too rustic for the rest of the house style but we do quite like it. The mirror is nearly as larger as the clock so both are oversized. I am thinking of purchasing both at Urban Barn and bringing them home to try them out. Only problem is that my hubby absolutely hates returning items lol....so he prefers we just make a choice and stick with it. But he might just have to suck it up :).

BeverlyFLADeziner - I actually really love the painting that is over the cabinet as it is hand painted and really calming :). I like the idea of the large canvas wall art...only problem is that the table is not centered on that wall. I am going to see if I can take a pic so you can see but the table is shifted to the left of that blank wall because of the mirrored cabinet in the corner.

After looking at your ideabook.....I am going to assume you want to make your dining space more modern and maybe a little Mid century too!

Is the small chest going to stay in the space? It is more of a contemporary piece..would you be willing to switch that out? What is the size of that wall and the empty larger wall? I would not put a clock in this space.

I agree with Beverly, mirror over console, but more frame than mirror, that way will reflect light but no one has to watch themselves eat. And art on other wall. You need some color, everything is blending into each other. It is just a blur of beige.

Home Interiors with Ease - that's so funny because I was thinking, really?! Modern is my style? Lol. But I actually do like that chandelier but my hubby isn't a huge fan. Looking fwd to your suggestions tomorrow :). I don't have measurements on me now but the cabinet wall (excluding window) is 5'2" long and blank wall is approx 8-8.5 feet or so. Susan, I agree it does look like a lot of beige. I kind of like neutral decor but was thinking if I have a new light fixture with black and maybe something with a bit of black on walls, that would make it pop. I'm not much of a fan of colour! Haha.

I am ok with neutrals, but just thinking that if you spend the money on items, at least get something that you can see :>). If you want to add black, not an issue. Please, no clocks in dining room. or family photos :>)

I would leave cabinet as is. I like it.
