I am familiar with the first lighting fixture you are considering and my recommendation is not to use it for your dining room. That fixture is typically used for in the kitchen or entryway to give an example. Also, considering the style and architectural elements in and surrounding your dining room I would recommend the Orb chandelier (your second choice).

thank you. The glass pendants I would thinking would go over the island in the kitchen that would replace the small pendants we currently have. My concern is would the brass and gold go together and if the 12" pendants would be too large?
