But if you do, this will make more sense what I am about to say. actually ill briefly go over it again. The way i work as a colour consultant is working under the principles of Applied Colour Psychology. Which means to consult properly I would need to understand how you wanted to use the room, the behaviours you want to see from the room, the personalities of those using the space. So please understand without being able to do that it is very hard to offer exact and fully appropriate advice. However what I can tell you from the images you have shown is that you need colours that contain black in their undertone or as their base colour. Whatever the colours you choose. if not the colours will jar and you will not feel the rewards of an harmonious colour palette. One idea I thought you could consider which would allow you to incorporate a range of colours is a geometric pattern using colours such as greens, pinks and perhaps some grey. It would've you a modern feel and work well for the space. It wouldn't lighten the feel and make it fun and interesting for the boys. Don;t be afraid of using pink for boys, it is hugely nurtured and is a comfort to small children girls or boys..ill post you a pic of the kids of thing I am thinking of so you can get an idea. let me know if i can be of further help to you. This kind of pattern would really draw out the design on the fireplace and enhance its colour. you an basically choose colours of you like too. Its fun creative and you can add as much or as little as you want. Any further help just give me a shout.Many thanks Lucy
