we use a lot of sikkens and Dalys stains for decks

Sikkens is a good one. They're cedar stain on top of real cedar is gorgeous. I applied it on my deck and rails but since I live in south Texas it fades within a year. I have looked for another stain but have been told by experts that in my area they will all fade. If you are in a cooler climate and rails don't get direct sun all day then you can probably get away with years between applications. Mine is once a year. Ugh!

Texas - may I ask which Sikkens product for the railing? There seems to be a few ways to go - Cetol 1, then 23; or DEK? or SRD? Thanks to you all!

Sorry I didn't check back sooner. I've thrown away empty cans. I buy it from a lumberyard that only sells cedar and redwood. But almost positive I used Cetol 1.

Another good one is called "One Time". I use their color "clove brown". It matches up to cedar very nicely.
