I do have external solar screens now but not cutting it for window 1. Window 5 faces street and I thought they should "match" from front?

I also needed sun coverage for one transom. I wanted the treatment to be as unobtrusive as possible, so got a cellular shade. When retracted it's less than 2" high, so it's barely noticeable from the inside (except for the cord) and is totally blocked by the trim from the outside. I feel that putting shutters on a transom would defeat the purpose of having one.

i wouldn't add shutters to transoms...

I would not put shutters on a transom. I put a film over them in my MBR because we have a two story house behind us and the crepe myrtles are not perect screening -- especially in the winter. We did the film for privacy, but it also diffuses light. I bought it at IKEA but even from other sources it is a small investment and might be worth trying, You can get solar films and textured films, but this was a simple frosted window cling kind of thing.

Appreciate all these responses very much. These shutters are so expensive and relatively permanent so don't want to make a big mistake. 99.5% sure will be doing shutters on normal lower windows and was only waffling on the transoms. Plus you saved me some cash and some dusting!! :)
