Are you quilting this weekend? April15-17

Here we go again! These weekends seem to roll around so quickly! I am hoping to get lots of sewing time this weekend but we will see. I am still working on the elephant quilt, didn't get as much done as I had hoped last week. My goals are to finish the quilt top, make new leaders for my quilt frame, and load and quilt the baby quilt. The due date is Saturday so hoping I can get it finished before we go to see him. DH and DD are going to the spring game at OSU on Saturday so I will have the day alone to sew.

Another accomplishment this week was to finally fill the alcove with some decorative items. We have been here for 1 year and 9 months. I couldn't decide what I wanted to put in it and I still need to buy some large items to balance it out but it is no longer empty. It is up so high that we had to have our son-in-law bring in the big ladder and put the items up there for us. We have vaulted ceilings and the alcove is the entire width of the room. There is also an alcove in the master bedroom but I'm not worried about decorating that one. The former owner left the things she had in it so it is OK for now.

Are you quilting or sewing this weekend?

My FIL is ready to put his house on the market, so tomorrow we are renting a trailer and going to pick up the wood working equipment he's giving to DH. Hopefully Sunday afternoon I'll get some time in the sewing room.

Sharon, is it Bonnie Hunter's strip twist? I made one for my BIL a couple of years ago. It was fun and went together quickly.

No Sewing this weekend, I think. DH had a 24 hour something this week and now I have it. Can't believe how weak this makes me, so it will be bed rest for today anyway.

Sharon, looking forward to seeing the strip twist, I'm intrigued!

Trying to decide what to work on next, since I finished all my April goals! But I'll definitely be sewing or crafting something!

I finished my One Fish, Two Fish quilt this afternoon. YEAH!!! I worked at our health fair today from 6am - Noon and will again tomorrow, but then have to help with teardown. UGH. I am trying to finish some of the tops I have completed, so hope to get one sandwiched. They are predicting a major snowstorm starting tomorrow afternoon, so maybe will get to hang out at home on Sunday & sew!

Donna, No it isn't Bonnie's pattern. It's from GE Quilt Designs. I don't have the pattern, just 'winged' it. :-)

If the weather holds out and DH goes the golf course, I may get a few hours in at the machine. I'm not as productive as Sue, but I'm working hard to finish up the WIPS!

I haven't done any quilting for over a month. I am so unambitious that it's terrible. I have found some fabrics for a couple of the lotto blocks, so maybe I can get those started. I have to do something to get motivated. This is disgusting.

Although we are camping out in the Texas Panhandle area - I did bring some projects with me. In straightening out my fabric closet before we left - I discovered some cross-stitch quilt blocks that my mom was working on before she passed away. I decided that was a perfect project for me to complete and put it together as she had intended - so I'll be doing some embroidery work to finish up the blocks.

I have a new purse or tote planned for April. The pattern is called Japanese Knot Bag and I have a heavy stash of batiks to dive into.

Oh, Sharon, I like that one!

We got all the woodworking equipment and a few pieces of furniture loaded at Dad's and moved into our garage yesterday. Some pieces are for cousins who live in Orlando, so DH is delivering them this afternoon.

The second load of laundry is in the washer and I'm itching to do some stitching!

How can a 24 hr. Bug last three days? I did get up this morning and had a piece of toast and I did put on clothes other than pj's. I just went out on the deck for some fresh air and now ten minutes later, I am back in bed. Whew!

Thanks for the get well wishes, hope they kick in soon.LOL

I finally finished the binding on Allietare and have the baby quilt top done. I am hesitating on the leaders because it is not fun to do! lol I am pleased with the baby quilt. My DIL showed me a picture on Pinterest and I made up my own pattern from the picture.

OMG those lil ellie phants. Sweet!! ...worked in the yard this weekend until I couldn't. Funny how the brain can think ahead and get sooo much done, but when you get out there with the body, you meet resistence. But. I'll go back another day. Inside, worked on the April lotto blocks. I love blue n yeller!! One done, 3 to go. All the cutting is done, now just piecing...might get them done tonite.
