One Fish, Two Fish quilt Finished!

I finished the binding on this today - YEAH!!! Now I just need to buy the Dr. Suess book and get this in the mail to Switzerland. This is for our first exchange student and his wife who are expecting baby #1 in June. They don't know if it is a boy or girl, so I figured this could go either way!

Great quilt. I have bookmarked it for future reference. Love that guy doing his own thing....swimming against the flow.

Carolnv, there is a quilt pattern by Cozyquilt.com for a One-Fish, Two Fish quilt, but I didn't buy it. I looked at it and decided I could make my own. My blocks were about 10", so it finished pretty big for a baby quilt, but that's okay with me! I had all of the fabrics except the light blue, but found that at JoAnns and it looks so much like wavy water, it was perfect!

I love it! A perfect amount of scrappy. I have lots of little strips, this would be great.

Besides the wonderful colors, I think it's the geometry that grabs me. I just love those sorts of things. Good job.

Carolnv - I used fabric from my stash. They don't know if it is a boy or girl, so I wanted to stick more with primary colors, not purples. I have a hard time with scrappy, so my placements are what I call "controlled scrappy" :-) I really like the "water" blue fabric I found at JoAnns for the background fabric.

LOL! I do the same thing! I bookmarked it and keep looking at it, I'll have to try to make a block and see how I do, I'd like to make a quilt too!
