I think your uppers all the way to the ceiling is to high. plus paint your cabinets and changes the doors

Since you choose Caesar Stone as your counter I think the ceramic tiles or glass as a backsplash is a great option, however if you want to change it up a bit you can always use a different shape than the subway tiles. We now offer some beautiful elongated bricks as well as Other fun shapes.

Really like the Seaglass backsplash. I think it is a winer! With the white cabinets and the green island it will look simply amazing. I think it is a great choice. I think the wood on the photo is a bit too yellow/gold. i think hints of brown would warm it up a bit:)

Laminate is not a good choice for the kitchen. I would look at Du Chateau engineered hardwood. They have many rustic and reclaimed looks.

The dining, kitchen, and living are all open so I want to use the same flooring for all three spaces. I don't like the cold feel of ceramic and it's considerably more expensive. I don't want to do engineered wood because I have two small children, and I want something low maintenance, durable, and budget friendly. We have lovely Australian cypress wood floors in our current house and they have taken a beating.

I think your lighting depends if you do an island or not? Most do some sort of light fixture over an island.

I like the cabinets to the ceiling too. Much cleaner. BTW - We put laminate in two rentals and when our tenants left water on them they bubbled up. Great tenants too. One overwatered a plant and the other had a dishwasher leak. They really can't take standing water. Also dog nails go clickedly clack with floating installation. Sounds like hoof beats from old westerns.

Agreed if we do an island we'll install pendant lighting.

I'll think on the laminate wood. We have considered LVT too. I just need low/no maintenance.

I too put laminate in my kitchen without any problems. I've since sold the house and it has tenants in it so I'm not sure how well it has held up. A lot of the newer laminates come with waxed edges as well so they're a little more impervious to water. My biggest issue with laminate is that you can't damp mop it. I always had to clean mine with a special laminate cleaner and microfiber mop or it would streak. LVT is an excellent option. So much easier to damp mop up a spill if need be. I have a u shaped kitchen that's starting a remodel in two weeks with a peninsula. One thing I did was have my kitchen designer add a cabinet on the outside with roll out shelves to take advantage of the 24" of dead space. I'm adding two more door blanks as well so it looks just like the end panels on your cabinets. Good luck with your project!

Taking out the peninsula is a good idea, it will open up the kitchen.

No I definitely do NOT recommend them. I wish I had spent a little bit more money and had them custom built. By the time you pay someone to install, which is a total hassle because there are so many issues, it wouldn't have cost much more.
