playapup.com has a belly band, you can add a pantiliner inside which might work. Might be less expensive than a dollar per diaper. You can call their 800 number for help and suggestions. I've used the belly band but not with a pantiliner. He didn't like it at first but he got used to it

Isnt 14 pretty elderly for a dog? Could be some age related issue like neuropathy that interferes with animal feeling the signal that he has to go . Or yeah, lazy - Ill go along with that! My sister-in-law used the belly band for the last 3 years of her Bichon's life. He never was properly housebroken and it drove her crazy, but once she started using the belly band, there was a definite improvement in the house. She used pantiliners too because they were much cheaper than the ones you would buy with the belly band. I imagine you could get them pretty cheap at Sams or Costco. Good luck. it appears the doxie peed on the schnauzer bed. I washed twice but schnauzer has not slept on it--refuses. I don't smell anything but I don't have a dog nose. I think 2 new beds are on my shop list. The enzymatic cleaner disappeared the stain but apparently not the odor.

Oh, my heart really goes out to you and your doxy. I wish I could find a pic of my bichon with his diaper and suspenders. For boys, it really helps to line with a full pad and don suspenders to keep the penis covered. I swear, it works!

Jfrwright, he would have nothing to do with the wraps or diapers. What seems to work are training pads with which i line his bed. In looking more closely at his last vet bill he had a urinary infection and was prescribed antibiotics. The peeing appears to have stopped but im keeping my guard and will continue to line his bed for a while.
