What's your budget? This is a schoolhouse chandelier from Destination Lighting that you might like. Very affordable and super cute. It might be too good a match for you, though. This one comes in polished nickel and satin nickel.

I don't know if this is too fancy but thought it was so pretty when I saw it in another thread. Schoolhouse fixtures ( and I've had them) can get a little 'heavy'.

I think our budget is up to 350 for this light. My thought was that whatever we get for over the table, I'd like to get the same or a similar one for our stairwell going up to the second floor. I hoe this is making sense--I am completely scattered tonight and all I can think about is Prince:(

I love Wendy's selection! It goes well with the schoolhouse fixture!

I really like mixing and matching - so I wouldn't go with another schoolhouse fixture and I wouldn't go with a flush mount. Chandeliers are meant to set the ambiance for dining, having them hang lower sets this.

I know you said not super trendy- but I think these lights would look great with the schoolhouse! (But again, love Wendy's selection of leaning towards more vintage than modern!!) Also- is everything in your kitchen finished in nickel? Is this light separated a bit that you could do a different finish?

I like Wendy's pick too but if you want a different look maybe something like this one by Kichler (Saldana - 3 light) - it is convertible so it could hang lower than this

These might be too industrial, but I just installed the nickel one over our breakfast table and it looks great!

Interestingly, the accompanying pieces in the collection for the one below were schoolhouse flushmounts!
