sofa fabric stretching

This sectional is only used for 6 months and has the cores changed once and waiting for a second change......I keep insisting the fabric has stretched and has nothing to do with the cores. I fluff and adjust all the seat cushions and back pillows every time someone gets up off the sectional. Could you live with this?? My husband does not care......he thinks I am too fussy about how it should look.......my question......could you live with this???

How about some comments to take back to the furniture store....am I being unreasonable? I didn't mention, this a sleeper sofa......with no support under the cushions......maybe the manufacture should not have made this style in a sleeper?

No....micro fiber......100% poly. Thank you for your responce but i don't want to say the manufacture yet as I am waiting to hear from this "high end" furniture store to see what they will do. I have asked for the rep from the manufacturer to come out but to no avail. If i don't get any satisfaction......I will post the store and manufacture! This sectional only get used 6 months a year when we are "snowbirds" so it's not like it's been used for a complete year yet! Thank you again for any added advice.

I don't know that i'd call it a bad fabric but i would call it not suitable for upholstery. It's a stretchy fabric or a loose weave that stretches with body weight. It sells b/c easy to clean/wipe and that's a big selling point. Personally I would never consider it but that's neither here nor rhere

To the best of my knowledge we have not experienced any issues with micro fiber stretching. May take the entire cushion, casing & core insert into the retailer to show them the issue; I would take both a seat cushion & a back cushion. However if it is the fabric you may still have a problem getting it resolved as most upholstery manufacturers' warranties do not cover fabrics as the fabric mills do not warranty fabric.

Yes......I think I am at the mercy of the store........hopefully I will get a credit towards another sectional from them..........my last sleeper was American Leather and was also purchased there..should have, could have.......well, you know the rest! Thanks for your advice. I have sent them loads of customers.....maybe that will help.......to be continued!

I bought a sectional a few years back from a high end furniture company in the Boston area. After 3 years, I had the same problem. I called the company and sent photos showing that I could grab at least an inch of fabric away from the cushion. They replaced the cushions at no charge.

Wow.....after 3 years.......great furniture store that stands behind their product!

    Thank you for your comment.

Can you believe the Manager came with the wrong rep from another company......in fact it was the rep from a company I would like to to have ordered a sleeper from! They did determine that one of the problems was due to the pullout mechanism which holds mattress. They thought it was installed to low and that was one of the major reasons I had so much sagging. They both sat down and they were pretty big guys so they sunk in towards the middle. Got up and the cushions looked horrible! The manager said he would get back to me.

I am at a point where I can either call the Better Business Bureau, put a negative comment on Yelp and on Facebook and then request a credit from American Express. i really want to do business with this company, I sent them tons of business and am willing to spend $2,000 more to upgrade to a better system sleeper. I am in the retail clothing business and if they had a problem, no way would a customer "bad mouth" me all over the neighbor. i would certainly make it right and make them a happy returning customer. What do you think?

BTW.....3 weeks ago.....came out with the wrong size cushion cores from another sectional I have from them.......now have the 3rd set ordered. (sign)

Did the Manager perhaps bring the rep from the company that made the other sectional you purchased from them? If that is the case he may have simply been confused as to which one was the issue; their sales record may not show what type of fabric the sectional is upholstered in & since you have experienced issues with the cushions on the other sectional he had it in mind. We have ordered parts from manufacturers before & receive the wrong part, size or number needed. This is not necessarily the store's fault & could be on the manufacturer end. I doubt that the manager is intentionally not trying to resolve this issue but if he does not get back to you call him back.
