There were a few topics in regard to that, maybe you can find it helpful... On the general note it's pretty much has to do with personal preference...

Other than that, some people with smaller children try to stay away from them for safety reasons, some people with a bit older children love to have them so they can use on their own and don't have to climb to get to it. Also some people like to have a hood fan above the stove, so they will add Microwave drawer someplace.

Good luck

If I have a choice I would always do a hood fan instead of the microwave above the stove, which IMO the dumbest place for one. As for thr drawer ones I don’t like having to bend down to look inside and i like my microwave where it is very handy and quick to use.

We love our microwave drawer! I am 5ft. 2in tall and and I am so happy not having to reach up to take a mug or dish of hot food out of a wall mounted microwave. My daughter loves hers because her kids (7 and older) can make their own oatmeal etc. without the risk of pouring hot food in their faces.

I built in our microwave in the island and love not having it up high. It is not a "drawer" but same concept.

I guess that none of these happy users ever watch a cooking dish to see when it boils/sizzles/transforms. I do, and thus I would never even buy one to find out whether it is otherwise ok.
