Shrubs along the fence line. Don't plant them too close though. Do the stepping stones lead from the back door?

The stepping stones lead to the back door. I was thinking a deck where the pebble rocks and stepping stones are. That's expensive though but it may look better. I just don't know.

Are you a diy type person? If you are, you can lay a brick or flagstone patio where the stepping stones and pebbles are. I can attest it is a lot of work! But then you are only paying for materials and a few tools and nothing for labor. And you get the satisfaction of creating something. Back in the dark ages, my husband and I read books to figure it out now you can watch a you tube video-way better imo. Should you tackle this yourself my only advice would be to measure carefully and do a good job with the base. Then the rest of it will come together nicely. Good luck.
