TableCloth... or not?

I am in a small space loft with the living area downstairs. There is no specific dining room and is only room for a 36" round table for dining. The room is long and open. The floors are dark wood, the counters are a dark granite, and the cabinets are dark. The walls are a taupe or beige and the exposed brick is brownish / reddish. Can you say neutral?

Because all my furniture is normal height I want my 36" table to be at bar height - 42" - with bar height chairs to break up the height plane that everything else is on.

Also, because my living space is very neutral I want to add color probably too by way of a nice, vibrant tablecloth. So, my question is...

Is it acceptable or preferential to use a tablecloth on a 42" tall / 36" round table, or is it not a good design idea?
