I think you should be interviewed and during that time, steer the attention to quilting and how it affects you to donate your quilts. Ask other quilters/sewers to donate......if they don't sew or if organizations want to help, gift certificates to fabric shops will help with batting and backings. Or start a 'group' of people to help out once or twice a month and show them how string quilts are made. You won't be blowing your own horn, but promoting donating and making something useful with scrap fabric. Go for it!

I agree with Sharon. I feel the same way about signing charity quilts, but can't imagine not doing it. You might get others to donate and might be able to give more to the community. Bless you!

I completely understand. When I worked at a nearby hospital I made quilts for employees who were going through tough times. I let the chaplain know I had placed them in the chapel with a card and she invited people to come sign the card and help tie the quilt. Sometimes it is nice to remain anonymous, and sometimes it is nice to be able to promote a need. I agree it would be wonderful to start a group (even if it is small) to help the facility. You can name your group and put that name on the label. I have assembled numerous quilts from blocks donated by Garden Web members and always put "Garden Web Quilt Forum" on the label.

I like all the ideas presented and think you should "go for it" as well! You'll probably get more people who would like to donate as well.
