It is a beautiful color and the photos that nosoccermom posted really show it off nicely. I have to say that I immediately went to the photo with 4 squares on the wall and my preference was actually Grant Beige. A color to definitely consider as well.:)

This is revere pewter in my office. Personally I'm in love with silver fox which is one swatch color darker (it's also the darker grey stripe on this wall) . I have silver fox in 5 rooms and several of my friends and family also do because they loved it so much.

Here's my usual comment on Revere Pewter: In my sister's dining room, it looked beige; in my daughter's MBR, it looks blue; in my LR, it looks gray. If you think you want to use Revere Pewter, which I love, I can't emphasize enough painting a sample board (the larger the better!), and moving it around the room to see how it looks in all sorts of light. P.S. My sister's go-to sample board was a piece of Sheetrock the builder had discarded that was about 3' x 4'

I just painted my family room this color. When they started cutting around the windows etc and left for the weekend, it looked so so dark! All I could picture was the "wet cement" comment that someone else had made and spent a whole night awake, panicking that I had made the wrong decision.

Monday they finished and it was just beautiful! But even the painter said it looked so dark to her that she went back and checked to see that it had been mixed properly. It was, and the second coat brought a total transformation. Now everyone who walks in wants to know what color it is.

I used it in my living room and kitchen/dining room. In my living room I love the color. It looks grey with a hint of khaki greenish. Looks really warm. Now the kitchen/dining room it looks awful! My daughter says it looks like cement. It's very cold and uninviting. That room gets a lot of natural light from the west.

If you are going to use this color do as others have suggested. Paint a large poster board and try it out first. I wish I would have done that. My kitchen/dining room would have been painted a different warmer color.

Just wanted to add be sure to test, test, test. I always use posterboard. Sometimes I'll stick a bunch of them together. I like to leave a white inch boarder at the edge so there's a visual break from the current wall color to the new one. It does help. I've also been known to tape white pieces of posterboard around the painted sample for a better visual. Hey, whatever works! Ha.

I think RP is a very pretty color, but it looked terrible in my house when I sampled. Even with the green undertone it still felt too cold. How the room faces and the amount of light will also greatly affect paint color.

I have made the comment before, about Revere Pewter looking like wet cement. It did not work at all in my So. CA dining room with large east and south facing windows. BM Grant Beige was the color I ended up using for most of my house. It went well with the fixed elements already in the house and with the furniture I had.

Based on measuring a sample of Revere Pewter and formal colorimetric standards, it belongs to the yellow hue family. Here's a complete Colorography of the color. This is an objective point of view based on the color's spectral curve or "fingerprint" measured in a controlled environment - usually lit with a daylight light source called D65.

Which is very different from the very murky, slippery slope of undertones which are painfully subjective and totally determined by individual evaluation. In other words, when it comes to undertone, someone's making their best guess about what they see as far as a color's inherent qualities using random lighting conditions. They could be shuffling paint chips at their kitchen table, in the front seat of their car, out in the garage, standing in their half-built castle. You really have no way of knowing.

I was just trying to find sites that go between the brands (remember colorcharts which did just that- you would enter bm revere pewter for example and it would generate a bunch of matches - some close some less close- by different brands). I still havent found such a site, but this one at the bottom of the explanation had a forum of comments- and there are many pix posted here as well. I am going to head back over there to see some other colors.

I have color matched revere pewter in behr all throughout my house. It looks different in day/night light and rooms. Overall, I really like it!

If you are open to other paint brands I am looking at Sherwin Williams colonnade gray, it skews warmer and less green.
