Hi caspersmb, The reason this is difficult is because 10" round ducting is used to carry many more CFM than you desired max output of 300 CFM...like 4 times as much. If you have an existing vent duct above your range that is the larger diameter, it can be resolved with a reducer. Find the hood you like then look for a reducer from the hood opening to neck up to your existing pipe. A typical size would be 6" out of the hood (though the hood often needs a square to round transition to fit to round pipe). You can easily find a 6-10 reducer at the local big box. They tend to be about a foot long....so some of the 10" pipe may need to be cut off. Depends on how far it is from the top of the new hood to the existing 10" pipe.
