I'm no expert but that sure doesn't look right to me. I had glass mosaic tiles on mesh laid as a feature in my last house, and you definitely couldn't see the mesh.

It is unusual that tile that size comes with a mesh backing. Most would be individuals. You will always see the mesh when you use the clear grout. It is unavoidable. You would have to pay extra to remove each tile from the mesh and hand set it. Or use standard opaque grout. You have to watch for the thinset to be flattened out after being growled on the wall as well. If the ridges aren't smoothed out, they can telegraph through the clear edges of the tile.

Make sure you installer reads the 'installation guidelines' paper that comes in every box. Every glass product has their own guidelines on how to properly install their product.
