I suggest end tables with drawers because you have things stored in the current tables' baskets. For traditional lamps, check overstock.com for a heftier style than what you have now. Artwork is personal; go to spring art fairs or check online.

Thanks for your suggestions. So large base lamps would look better in scale to the furniture? That is what I was thinking but wanted to be sure. The baskets under the tables won't be used any longer - they just hold my younger daughters books and those can be stored elsewhere. Walking between two sofas isn't a priority but I have a corner depth in that area of about 40 X 45 and the space isn't filled in by a small table and need something that will balance with a picture hanging above it (or could be a small mirror) as in attached photo

Then there is the other corner where the recliner chair meets the sofa. Would a rounder table look better there? I was hoping to break up the matchiness of the room with different tables and different lamps but not sure how to go about it or what I should be looking for scale wise. Then what kind of coffee table do I add? Should I be looking for one larger scale painting for the behind the sofa? What I have seems like not enough. I only have 6 1/2' tall ceilings. Thanks for any advice or even pictures of furniture/lamp ideas.
