These are some of my favorites exteriors that may be helpful

Benjamin Moore has a Historical Collection in their Preview Color Fan with beautiful saturated colors. Black is always a timeless color choice for a stately look. Sherwin Williams has a great color called Library Pewter (gray/green/brown). One day, you may want to add a portico entranceway. Samples below.

I think the house looks amazing... as is! I would update some of the landscaping... maybe some modern-ish tall pots with larger topiaries or something on each side of the door. And the bushes are too uniform for my taste... but the house itself looks spectacular!

Your historic home is beautiful. My guess is that white was the original color and I like it just as it is. Landscaping would certainly add a lot to its character. The shrubs in front are probably boxwood and you should let them grow together and a bit taller before trimming again. I would curve some beds in front of them, plant a grouping of either blue or pink hydrangeas and some perennials and annuals in front of them. Two tall black urns would look great at the entrance. Here's a doodle of my ideas.

Oh, forgot to mention that the trees planted in front are really distracting. They look young so maybe you can dig them up and transplant elsewhere.

I love your house as it is......only thing I would suggest is maybe something to take away the red of the sidewalk, for me the red detracts from the house............and update the landscaping..good luck
