Bumper crop

It's not surprising this young Korean Fir clone is producing a nice batch of cones, but I've also got a small seedling that produced a decent crop last year. The HS is nice, but I think I like the seedling better.

Nice tree and yard, really like the "natural setting look". I planted a Horstmanns Silberlocke Korean fir 3 years ago and it is doing well. The guy at the nursery said that 5 of the 6 they got in were sold then returned after they died. He didnt recommend them at all for columbus, ohio (too warm). Its getting as full sun as full sun gets and is well drained. Whats going in where the tarp is? More conifers hopefully.

The pic is the popular cultivar, but the seedling is also producing cones. Oh, and no, I wish I could say I grew it from seed, but I bought it from Joe Brau in Duluth. Perhaps you've heard of him?

Thanks for that clarification. I've heard of Joe and saw photos of him with along with Edwin Smits (Netherlands) and Henk van Kempen (Netherlands) and several USA broom hunters having dinner at Joe's home.
