Hi, please if you will, what is the material used in the eaves? Also, was the batten put over the vertical lines of the t111 on the dark gray parts?

It was not T111 panels but those are 1x2's in a vertical pattern to cover the panel joints. The soffits were made to match an existing interior ceiling that was made up of 2x2's. So the soffit has 2x2's spaced 1 1/2 apart over a cedar plywood panel
