Trying to fix my belt

I know this forum is filled with very bright people.
I have learned to come here and ask for advice whenever I'm stumped by
something.

I have a very nice belt made of very good leather. The other day the
thread that holds the buckle in place came apart. I do not want to throw
away the belt, if I can avoid it.

I also do not want to re-stitch the belt because I do not have a swing
machine. And in any case this is leather which means I would probably
need special thread.

Below is a photo of how the buckle part of my belt is supposed to look:

My question: Is there a staple or some kind of rivet
or something else that I could use to hold the buckle part of the belt
together? Like I said, I don't want to stitch the belt back together,
though I know that this would be the best solution. I just want a fix
that I can easily do at home.

Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!
