I'd redo the backsplash (with a more soothing color&shape), not the cabinets. But I would take out the entire block with the oven and fridge and pantry! Then cut out a large square and make large plain built-ins with full-height doors and integrated appliances, so it becomes a wall of smooth cabinets, painted in a similar color as the wall. (Hope this explanation makes sense? Added an example photo.) This way the main kitchen block and the island get all the attention. It's a beautiful kitchen!

Sounds like you have some great choices. I would increase the height of the upper cabinets along the "hood" wall. Perhaps making the top section a lighted glass for display. Yes, I would move the pantry door to the side hall and fully utilize that wall to create counter space between near the frig - you might even want to move it to the area that the pantry opening currently sits, so it is closer to range/oven/sink. Knobs and furniture details really go a long ways in kitchens these days. Are you painting cabinets or going with a wood?

Still deciding on colors for cabinets. Forgot to say that I am converting many doors to drawers so will consider new door style and color options. I like the idea of keeping the fridge/oven wall same as wall color and focus on the cabinetry on cooktop wall.

Also will be eliminating the half round at the island. Some have suggested two islands but I am really not sure that will look and feel.

This is actually a nicely laid out kitchen for the space. Yes you could take the pantry closet area to widen the wall space by the wall ovens and fridge. Other than that I don't see anywhere to take it short of major construction changes with moving walls etc.. Since you have tall ceilings you could take the wall cabs up a bit higher although not too high as you don't want to diminish the impact the hood has, which is very nice in the space. With the wall space gained by the pantry, I would suggest you do a counter-wall cabinet with pocket doors on the bottom to house your mixer, blender and toaster oven. This same cabinet could have an open shelf on the top to house the TV thus getting most of the clutter off the main countertop by your range. I have read that sometimes having the ovens next to the fridge prevents t he fridge doors from opening all the way due to the oceans handles protruding in the space. that is why I thought to put the counterspace section in between them. Other than that I think having the counter space section where the pantry is currently is probably better.

You want to delete the round half of the island? May I ask why?
Your ceiling needs some 'weight below' for balance. Two islands sounds weird to me. And when placed right, fridges and ovens won't interfere because of the jamb inbetween.

Add counterspace on the fridge wall? Why?
I see small appliances that can easily be placed inside a cabinet when not in use (even when used everyday) Even if you would want them on a counter, why not place large bifold doors in front of them?
