Doric quartz is very cool toned, I love it and we were considering getting it for our kitchen, so I have a sample here. You want to look for colors with a cool undertone. Stay away from colors with yellow or warm undertones. Here's a greige that works with the doric, it's a Behr color called mocha light that I had color matched at Sherwin Williams.

I think the photo you've posted shows that the kitchen walls right ow are very dark. Unless that is the look you are going for, I would recommend lightening and *brightening* your color choice. Lightening means adding white, and brightening means adding warmth--either towards the yellows or the reds (ie: not the blues).

Also, you want to look at this in the daylight, not just at night.

I think you can't go wrong with Covington Grey. It's a beautiful color that goes with anything and it's a cool grey but very inviting and will contrast nicely with your cabinets and countertops. I know you have a million and one choices to choose from but go with your gut feelings and go get your money back fromthe lady that you paid to help you. How very unprofessional of her and the company should know that she quit on you after one try ! By the way, love your kitchen so can't wait to see which color you pick.

I second SW Agreeable Gray! I have very similar cabinets, countertops and flooring and the Agreeable Gray looks great with them.

So I've been looking at pictures on this site and I think I am more attracted to the lighter shades of color than the darker ones. There have been so many great suggestions I can't wait to go pick up samples of my favorites!!

Manchester Tan would also look nice in your adjoining family room. That is, from looking at your pics. It's a clean beige color...not muddy or pink, with yellow undertones (same as Dover).

I think my plan is same color in kitchen, family room and foyer...Trying to stay away from anything that looks "greenish"

I am just curious, does agreeable gray look more gray or more beige?? The pictures I've been looking at look more beige/warm.

I agree, there is a blue/gray color in the counter top and I also agree that there is too much matching. I believe a light blue/gray color will give your kitchen a little pop.

I have a few shades lighter. Can't recall the name.

Have you thought of using Dover in the foyer? I have it my foyer, entryways and hallways. Great transitional color with your other rooms.

Although it may be a little expensive, maybe an interior designer could help you with your dilemma. I am far from an expert when it comes to getting that "perfect color" that you are seeking. There are many variables to consider, and a good interior designer will help you determine what you will probably like best. Good Luck

Saw your post and went looking for the color online, because I am hunting for colors also. (I have a list to check out because of these posts.)

I thought... I like the color but really need more brown in the color to match a 70's light yellow tile in two bathrooms. Plus we are putting in granite in all bathrooms like Klasic has and painting the cabinets expresso. So, yes, I need a Greige.

Btw Stonington Gray is a Benjamin Color which you can get at Sherwin Williams for a relatively lower price per gallon than Benjamin Moore. and I like the quality of the paints. I do have good greige color options but I will have to see the pictures to really give you the exact names to make your life easier in selecting the paint color. :)

Sherwin Williams number one best selling paint color is Kilim Beige. No undertones. Work perfect in my home. Good luck

I love SW Accessible Beige. It is a beautiful, light griege that goes with everything. Best would be to use that griege tool you mentioned and then pick a few samples. See what speaks to you and looks best with your counter. Good luck!

how dark are your brown cabinets? are they espresso. if so you might want to go with a lighter granite - Two choices are kashmir white and river white if you have espresso. also you want to make sure that there's ample natural light with espresso cabinets.
Just a suggestion. Do share the pics if your selection.

I see warm and cool in that granite, so I would be really unsure myself! after $80 in assorted sample pots I just painted my living room Light French Gray (@50%) by SW and it is a true gray in my low light room with no green/blue/purple or any other undertones .yay! I though I wanted BM Edgecomb gray and it was so yellowish.. :(

You are right..I see both warm and cool colors in the granite which does make it tough to choose.I think I have at least 12 (or maybe more) sample pots. This has not been easy

Pick up the blue gray tones with Stonington gray and you're done ☺.

Sorry I did not respond earlier. I like the granite you suggested, but am trying to coordinate with yellow tile. An espresso should work and one of the granites with more brown in it should go with the yellow without creating a contrast. I will check out kashmir white and river white again. Thanks.

If you live in North Carolina - I know a company that refinishes the tiles. i am planning on getting mine refinished in a different color. More along the lines of a light gray that goes with my counters. My tiles were installed 2 years earlier and and didnt have it in the budget to take them out and continue the wood in the kitchen - that would have been ideal. But I know it can be refinished.

I found that I can take a tile like this and make it work by making the tile part of the solution, not the problem.

To show you how weird pictures are, I see your beautiful cabinets and counter, plus the floor as an excellent match. The tile that should be changed is the back splash. It does not go :-)

I am not serious, of course, because I am sure that in real life the gray back splash is matched with the counter top.

Beautiful kitchen. Just a thought...because lighting changes everything...you might want to get a LED lighting strip installed under your cupboards to light the counter area before you pick the paint color. I agree with the blue/grey tone to mellow out all the brown and white.

I did not get a chance to go pick up paint samples yet, but I am leaning to something on the lighter side. I like the Covengton Gray, Edgecomb Gray and Manchester Tan. I did schedule a color consultant to come and help me with a color plan for my house.

Kasich, you could certainly do a true grey such as SW repose gray, or go a shade darker to mindful gray. If you plan on doing a light backsplash and your lighting if good a charcoal would be beautiful in here with that granite. BM Kendall charcoal HC166, or a lighter Amherst gray167. Do go to the SW or BM store though as the bases for these paint vary and may not come out quite the same at HD. I think the deep color looks good in here just not the green. Hanging art will help too.

Well it is now 2017 and I am finally wrapping up my kitchen makeover. The walls were repainted in Sherwin Williams China Doll and I absolutely love the color!! Table and chairs have also been refinished and all that I have left to do is accessorize. Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions along the way. It was most appreciated

What color are your cabinets?

Edgecomb Grey (BM) would be perfect....its just one of those neutrals that doesn’t have an “undertone”. Looks great in any light.

Cindy, my cabinets are Conestoga Wood and the color is Crystal White Colourtone with a 15% sheen topcoat. It is very similar to Sherwin Williams paint color "Dover White."

Hi, we chose China doll as paint for interior of the house including cabinets & doors (with matte finish) and rest of the house flat/eggshell. it’s a new house and yet to be complete, now, reading some of the reviews we are kind of worried if it would look more pink than beige... looking for input from the team .
