Replace the glass

Alllllll rightie then! Truthfully though, looks to be a pretty simple fix. Change out the sidelights to something in a plain glass. Probably frosted - possibly reeded? The front door color really doesn't bother me. The house looks like it's white. Personally, I'd leave the door as is until you decide to paint the house. The door is definitely keeping with the style though.

Oh, and list your current sidelights on craigslist or something. You may get enough to recoup a part of your cost of replacement.

Or, better yet, you could always donate them to Habitat for Humanity.

Its the sidelights that suck..not really the door. You need plain glass sidelights modern and frosted-one single long panel. If your house was modern, that look look more modern as well and paint the door and surrounds with something dark and glossy.

Well, although it ordinal by could be worse, it is an amusing one for us to contemplate. Agree that a reeded glass would be semi transparent and pick up in the vertical lines of the home's exterior paneling, If you can remove the molding that is the twin circles within the squares, that would leave three simple squares rather than the bully's eye look. And agree that a simple dark glossy paint that works with your exterior would be great. A planter on either side of the door and "Bob's your uncle."

Go to Home Depot and get a new door all together! They have some good options!

I'd replace the whole door

The entry to your home is very important.. it is the front cover of the book, and should reflect what's inside as well as fitting into the exterior. First things first the door and the side lights just don't work together. And if you say the house is contemporary, well the sidelights don't fit in with that scheme. You need to introduce some warm welcoming features to the exterior such as a small timber bench seat/ plant/ urns and a more substantial mat running long ways to the door. The internal shot doesn't take in enough of the room to comment on. Although I usually like a mirror on the side wall above a hall table.
