If not a blue-grey, are you looking for a green-gray then? Or lavender-grey? Or a beige-grey? Greys have been used extensively in home decor for the past number of years. You should be aware that the colour trends are moving toward the warming of neutrals. As seen at London Design Week last September, greys are natural with depth and complexity and not a mixture of black and white. Aged, unbleached finishes in wood go with colours like toast, cardboard, naked. Colours are autumnal and slightly greyed.

It looks like you are trying to pick a colour in isolation, without accounting for your flooring, cabinetry, furniture, lighting fixtures, etc. The colour of your walls should be the last thing you choose. Focus on the furnishings and finishes first, keeping in mind the trends which have already started to show up in North America. Then your house won't look dated even though it's new.

A consultation with a professional interior designer would be a good investment, in my opinion.
