Help! Kitchen backsplash

Hi all! My husband and trying to decide on a backsplash for our kitchen. Instead of having a "heated" discussion, I thought I could as this great community!
I'm partial to the the fasade.
1. Easier for DIY
2. Bounces some light
What do you think?
Should we use fasade or a traditional tile? If tile what design would you pick?
