Who has a quartz counter on their vanity?

We were told that the quartz will be sealed, so no issues for staining. Anyone have experience with quartz?

We are remodeling our DD's bathroom co-op and need a very narrow depth vanity. This leaves us with very few choices.

We had Cambria Quartz counters in our kitchen, pre-remodel. No sealing. Held up well for 10+ years. Cambria in one bath - no sealing, no issues. And we now have Hanstone Quartz in 2 recent bathroom remodels. Hasn't been a year yet for those 2 but they look great. No staining on any of the counters mentioned.

It wasn't a selling point for me (sealing is easy) but I've never heard of sealing quartz. We have Ceasarstone in the kitchen and two bathrooms (all Organic White, no stains - when there are spots that water or windex (non-ammonia) won't clean, Soft Scrub Gel with Bleach works brilliantly. Ours have been in almost 3 years.

I remodeled 4 bathroom over the last 2 year and they all got quartz counters. No sealing needed, even on the white one. A little Lyson w/Bleach will clean up any stains.

Okay, this is reassuring. it was DH who spoke to the sales rep when I asked about staining.

The top we have elected is called Cotton White Quartz. My DD uses all kinds of make-up and sprays. If I had my druthers, I would put in Corian. We can't go bigger than 18 inch depth, so the selection of vanities is minuscule.

Good to know that soft scrub with bleach or other bleach cleaning products will do the trick.

We use quartz tops quite often. They are durable and good quality for a good price. Caesarstone and Silestone are our more popular brands we use.

We have a light Zodiac quartz in the master. It's not sealed and I use all sorts of hair and face products. No problems at all.

I have read that bleach can yellow a white quartz so I'd stick to what the manufacturer recommends for stains and rinse well after cleaning. Most recommend Soft Scrub with Bleach.

The only problem I've seen mentioned on the kitchen forum is surface pitting on Chinese quartz. I'd be wary of laying a hot hair implement on it and scorching the resin since you're not supposed to put hot pots directly on it in kitchen use.

As I said I have white quartz and use Windex All-Purpose (non-ammonia) on it all the time (every night in the kitchen, and every morning in the bathroom). No yellowing after 3 years.

Of the various quartz products mentioned Cambria, Pental, Hanstone is there a big price difference? Did you get them through a fabricator.. or pre-fab?

I used cambria, pental and caesartone to get the perfect colors for each bathroom. My contractor gave me a final price for the whole install, so I didn't really compare each brand down to the price per sq.ft. They were done through a fabricator due to custom sizes needed for an existing home.
