Mine is the Ikon in anthracite. I love it!

I absolutely love this sink! I have mine in the metallic silver!

For folks who are asking about it looking "plastic" - there is no easy way to answer that.... it is a composite material that is not metal nor is it glossy like cast iron or fire clay it that certainly doesn't make it cheap - it just makes it different. Buy the sink because you love how it looks and functions....

For everyone who has this sink, did your contractor have issues cutting the cabinet so the sink will fit? My GC is telling me that it will not look good when he cuts the cabinet as this sink doesn't have a lip to cover the cut marks.

Misaltow - many of the farm sinks today do not have a lip to cover the cut... he needs to measure carefully so the fit is tight then caulk any gaps. You sink may not be the type he is used to....

My dream sink is the Rohl Shaw's original, because it's gorgeous! However I work from home in my kitchen. I make salves, makeup etc. I'm concerned about how much I cook, salve, etc. My concern with this sink is staining. I would be getting white. Anyone with the white sink who cooks a ton...like beets, sauces, etc. Any issues...btw beautiful kitchens.

I had the chance to use the sink for a couple weeks now. The white does stain but nothing the magic eraser hasn’t been able to wipe away. Hope that helps!

We have purchased 3 of the anthracite 33" ikon sinks and all 3 have been defective...mainly shiny smudges on the apron front. Has anyone else had a problem with this sink? We are not sure that we want to put off the kitchen remodel for another month waiting for another one.

I seriously want to get this Blanco Ikon sink in my new kitchen with antique white cabinet. I like apron sink, but not very into stainless steel apron sink, and not too fond of the upkeep of fireclay. I cook 4 meals a day for a family of five, so Stainless steel is carefree IMO. But I am getting to a stage that I want to try this Silgranit sink which everyone loves in this forum. I love the look of this sink, and don't want to face the boring stainless anymore. However, I am worried about the potential crack that some folks are talking about. It will be the last thing I want to handle after mounting it under counter top. Please input your thoughts. Thx.

@becca I think the cracks you may be referring to are from my posts about the chip on the bottom edge. The reality is that the bottom edge is rough, not polished. We were able to get a replacement for the one that had a noticeable chip. Now that the renovations are complete and we've been in full swing since May, I don't notice the rough edge. I'm very pleased with this sink including not just how it looks, but how it cleans up. Because we have the white, we do have to put a little elbow grease into cleaning it, but I just recently switched to Norwex cleaning cloths and that pulls any stains out easily. My recommendation is to fully inspect the sink as soon as it arrives so there are no surprises.

Elena, thanks for your reply. I am glad that you get replacement of your sink and you are enjoying it. The crack I am referring to is crack shown on inside of the sink that some experienced right after installation or after use. Cracking or leaking will the the last thing I want to deal with. I still not sure I am ready to take the risk over how much I like it. But I need to make decision soon ...

I still cannot decide. I was talking to a plumbing expert who thinks the white ikon may look too modern for my old fashioned kitchen? I don't think it looks modern unless it's in the colors....what do you guys think?

I have a question about location of the trash/waste/garbage can. We just finished our kitchen renovation and though I love the look of the farmhouse apron sink, the shortened cabinet access doors made it impossible to have a sliding 13 gallon can under the sink. Where are your waste cans? We have our dishwasher on the right of our sink and a corner cabinet on the left. That left no available trash cabinet adjacent to the sink. We couldn't figure that one out so went with a Blanco drop in white one bowl sink, and trash can under. I really love my sink.

Chikadee, I have the same sink/dishwasher configuration as you. So I also need to give up waste can under sink instead I am thinking to get Blanco Solon to be installed behind the sink area where I have space in front of the window, And just a stand alone trash can next to cabinet.

I really like the farmhouse sink, but worry the durability/leaking. DH wants to go with stainless steel. but I am not too fond of the look of stainless steel farmhouse sink.

Marcia Putnam, I like the look. I don't think it is modern at all. My cabinet is off white and I like the black or dark grey/brown to contrast it with counter. IMO, stainless farm sink looks more modern and I feel that it defects the look of farmhouse sink. So I am inclined to ignore DH, and jump into Ikon or undermount double Blanco.

Becca- I had not seen that Blanco Solon before. That looks great and the function of it, nice! I compost too, so might have thought of installing that if I would have known about it. I agree with you about the SS farmhouse sink, think it's trying too hard when a farmhouse sink is just simplicity.

I found it in white in a showroom. It is really beautiful but very modern. If you are looking for a classic apron sink this is not it. I really liked it but it will not work for our antique home.

Marcia - I was concerned that this would look too modern in our kitchen reno - we were going for a Mission vibe. I really wavered, but am so glad we finally decided to go with the white Ikon. Once installed, it really doesn't look out of place, plus it is deeper than many classic apron front sinks.

@Teri Heafner we actually had the exact same problem. I was told to use Magic Eraser but once it completely dries you can see the marks again. Were you able to get rid of them? I am contemplating going with Cinder because I am scared this will be a normal thing...

The fit between the sink flange and the bottom of the stone should be loose, by about 1/16". A fat bead of silicone is placed on the flange and the top set on it. The silicone fills the gap between the flange and stone bottom. If it's done right, they'll be a nice blob of silicone squeeze-out when the top is set. Spray the squeeze-out with Windex and wipe it off with a wet finger. Topically applied silicone is useless; if it's the only gasket, even with a tight fit, you'll have a leaking sink eventually.

Hello Everyone - My wife and I are also really interested in this sink based on how it compares to the cast iron & fireclay alternatives. The only minor concern we have is the general style of the sink and how it will blend with our "traditional" cabinet selection (link to cabinet image is below).

These sinks have been around for over twenty years. No cracks or leaks really.

I just got my ikon sink in black. I love it and couldn't wait to have it installed. Just wonder for those who had the sink for awhile, do you use sink grid? I used to have stainless steel sink and don't to use sink grid as I am afraid it is hard to keep clean. You have to take up the sink grid to clean the sink and there is one extra item to wash. But at the same time, I kind of wanting the grid to prevent dent or scratch. Please advise.

vfayewilkinson, how do you like your sink? Pros and cons? Can you post a pic of your island? I think it my have similar configuration as I am planning on mine.

Use a scrubby brush and it is 2 seconds to clean the grid... I have one and love it... not hard to clean at all

Does the black color show hard water spots?

How far beyond the cabinet face does the sink protrude? With so many rounded corners, it is tough to measure exactly how this sink should fit. I would think the entire radius of the front corners (about 2-1/8") should be outside the cabinet face, otherwise the gap between the sink and the filler will be wider at the front of the filler than the back.

I currently have a dark brown Blanco sink and am considering the white Ikon for our new house. 4101ashford In regards to water spots, I wouldn't get the black without a water softening system, which we have. We haven't had any calcification, but we also oil it occasionally, which eliminates haze. Google this, because it helps tremendously and keeps it looking great. I am concerned about the white color staining and wish it didn't have the sloped sides.

Hi. I am wondering if anyone has experienced back pain from leaning over the sink to clean? How low is it? I know someone mentioned that they use the grid to elevate the cleaning surface. I am wondering if this is necessary. I am not that tall (5'7) but, I have had lower back problems in the past.

We don’t have an ikon but have an undermount 27” blanco silgranit sink that is 10 yrs old and still looks great. Stains up every so often (we’re daily coffee drinkers) but a little scrub and back to normal.

I am getting a new kitchen and am considering the Ikon in the metallic gray. The lower cabinets will be navy and the uppers will be light gray. The countertop will be mostly white with some gray either quartz or granite. I was wondering if I should just go with an under mount stainless steel sink thinking that maybe the gray ikon farmsink will be too busy. Thoughts?

Hi again: See post above....I should have added that I will have a white subway tile backsplash with gray grout and medium brown wood floors. The white sink is not an option as hubby isn’t crazy about the white and I am concerned about staining. How do you think the metallic gray apron front will look with that colour scheme.

My kitchen is a little like yours where I have navy lowers and white quartz countertop with grey veining. My uppers are a warm white though and backsplash is a grey tone. I have a grey/brown floor. I ended up getting the Kohler Whitehaven (in white) and not the IKON.

@UP did you install the sink in your ikea base?? We are looking to install the 27” ikon in the 30” ikea base and I’m wondering if I should get the ikea base made for apronfront sinks or if I should get the one for drop ins and cut out the space on that front panel for the sink?? My thought was to go with the ikea base made for apron sinks and then have some panel cut to fit on each side of the sink...I know our general contractor has not installed this kind of sink before. I want to be armed with alllll the knowledge so it gets done right! @josephcorlett any thoughts on this?

How is this holding up for everyone? Is the white an all white sink? The sample I have has flecks of blue in jt.

Love love the silgranit sink. I have 3 sinks in my kitchen. 2 are stainless and one black silgranit in my island. It’s beautiful and doesn’t scratch or stain. No grid needed for this one!

I have the silgranit sink as well. We installed it about 3 years ago. I absolutely love it!
