I like that idea! We have some splashes of aqua blue in the living room, and in some art on the wall next to the kitchen... maybe blue would work? Now I'm imagining 4 grey chairs and 2 blue ones. Do you think grey bar stools too?

Agree on recovering the bar stools and white table with more color on the chairs Glass might be too much if it's already in the LR. Also maybe change out the pendants to something colorful too and a little more color on the countertop. Lime green, turquoise or bright yellow. Everything's so monochromatic here.

White would bring some light into the space and would make it crisp, but I would go unexpected with the chairs. Either a defined style (other than transitional) like industrial or mid-century modern, etc or a unexpected color.

Need color. Black table with colorful tableware that coordinates with stools and chrome or steel chairs with a bright leatherette seat and back. Do same color on stools. I like citron yellow. Or red/orange or lime green. Add color to pendants. Cool contemporary chandelier over table.
