Big enough for doves

Are the openings large enough to be a functional shelter for doves. Please provide a description of base and mounting procedure.

    So sorry, the openings are sized for songbirds as doves (common mourning doves) don't use birdhouses to nest. The decorative brackets are attached to the floor of birdhouse, they are meant to slide on your 4x4 post, or vinyl post cover which can be purchased locally for about $17. (in the fencing section of most home improvement stores).
