We have it but never use that option in our microwave. Use convection oven lots and love it. I suggest you read up on the exact functions the convection part of the microwave performs, do the same for the Miele range oven and then compare and see just which one would serve your family needs best.

We have Wolf combo u-wave you're considering, along w/ single wall oven. We're empty-nesters & my wife uses combo unit all the time b/c it's big enough to handle most needs. You're buying high-end eqmnt. The price difference betw. Wolf's u-wave & combo u-wave convection isn't that great. I recommend getting the latter, then you have all bases covered.

If you have a single wall oven, definitely go with the micro/convection combination. If you have two ovens, the microwave alone will do. I had the one oven/combo in an earlier house and used the second (convection) oven frequently when our kids were still living at home.
