How to grow a better mango tree?

10 years ago

Bought from nursery at four feet tall. Now seven feet with new two
branches. Came with support from nursery. The bark is thin. Told by the
gardener it is a hybrid variety. Now all most one year on ground. Before
one year at pot till four feet. Hotter climate at Chennai India.
Suggestions to find hybrid variety or normal variety, increasing bark
thickness etc. Feeding vermicompost. When will it yield?
