Both choices are beautiful and would look great with your kitchen and counter tops. If you can afford the extra cost, I would go with A since it is your favorite! It will add more interest since the tile is beveled.

My cabinets are not actually shaker style... they have more detailing in the paneling. I don't have a picture because the design studio didn't have the color in my style in stock so I was using the shaker cabinet for color. My cabinets are Aristokraft Landen in Antique.

I vote A...for some reason it looks more elegant to me. If that is the look you are going for :)

I agree with Alexis Dietrich Designs. The simple rectangle is preferred for its classic shape and proportion. The beveled tile is more trendy.

While I really, really like A, I think that B would look better over the span of a countertop. If you could get B in the A color, that would be great!

Of the two, I like A which will not be too shiny with the granite. I would want more contrast between the backsplash and the cabinets.

Another vote for B, but you seem pretty excited about A. Glad you found a couple choices you're happy with!

Have you checked quartz for counters? So much easier to take care of.

Both are acceptable; however to my eye, B looks like you settled, while A looks like you nailed it!

I did look at quartz, unfortunately it is out of our budget since our builder charges substantially more for it. We had lots of granite options, but this was honestly my favorite. I love the flecks of cream, white, black, gray, and blue. I prefer the speckled granites to the ones with movement, I guess. These backsplashes are really the only options that my builder offers that look really nice with my counter. There is a light gray subway tile, but otherwise everything is very brown and I didn't like it with the granite.

I would reconsider the gray. To much match-matchy = boring. You really need to visualize the space. There is a little gray in your floors.

Yes that is the style but I'm getting off white.

What is a reasonable cost to pay for about 21 square feet of backsplash tiled like either of these? One choice builder quoted about $500 and the other choice is $1,000. I know I could buy the tile, but not sure how good we would be at DIY, especially on the island.
