I will not get too much sewing done this weekend if any at all. My mom is coming to my house today. In the morning we are going to my son's house in Smyrna TN. We will watch the TN Air Show from his yard. It is a neighborhood thing there as the airport runway is less than a mile away. It is sad that the Blue Angel pilot was killed there yesterday though. (less than 2000 feet from my son's house) With the 2 hour drive there and the 2 hour drive back to my house, I am sure tomorrow will be no quilting. Maybe on Sunday after my mom leaves for home.

I'm determined to get my depression block quilt going. It's been ready to assemble for over a year and other things got in the way. It will be a king size so I am preparing 16 blocks of 16 HSTs each that are about 24" square. I made all the HSTs long ago and it's just layout and assembly now. I'm trying to do a couple each day and this weekend, that's the only thing on the sewing table.

I'll probably be sewing on the Puppy borders today. Tomorrow is the baby shower an hour or so away so that will take up most of the day.

Jackie, So sad about the Blue Angel pilot. Have they discovered what was wrong with the plane?

Probably no sewing here. We're going to Lakeland to have Father's Day early with my dear FIL (we'll be out of town on the 19th) and do a few more things at Mom's house. Tomorrow I play bells at two church services, then I need to make an inventory for my brother (Mom's executor) of all the things we brought to our house for safekeeping.

I might do a bit of hand quilting in the evening. :)

I have had a project in the works for a couple of weeks. Nothing too difficult but time to get at it. I Spend a little time each day and this morning, I cut some more pieces. I have not been feeling well so it is an effort to do anything.

Hope you feel better, Theresa. It dawned on me I should make a quilt for some dear friends GD's H.S graduation. They've raised her from a baby so we know her very well. Party is in three weeks, so decided on the Wickedly Easy quilt!

The college colors will be gray and red, so bought fabric yesterday. Was going to garden all day today, but fell at the European Market in town this morning. So feel like I've been hit by a VW bug and taking it easy washing and cutting fabric instead.

I've got all 85 blocks for my antique star quilt laid out on the living room floor. I have started piecing them together with the sashing diagonally from one corner. I have a quilting friend coming over for dinner tomorrow, and I wanted her to see them. Then I will pick them up by row and keep assembling. I just have to figure out what to do, if anything, with the scraps left from fussy cutting the sashing. Any ideas? They're just under an inch wide. What a waste of beautiful fabric. I guess I could always use them in a strip block.

No sewing for me - for a couple weeks. Tobey (DH) and 2 buddies are riding their bicycles from our house in Fort Collins, CO to Yellowstone NP. We left Friday afternoon (Tobey only went 10 miles to the meeting spot for today). Today they rode 55 miles - elevation gain of 3859'!!!! We are in Laramie, WY tonight. Lois, you could get really crazy and sew two or three of those strips lengthwise (to make them wider) and use them for binding. :)

I saw a neat idea of using selvage strips with the color coding which would mimic the size of your strips. The thin strips were sewn together, then turned into a tote bag/purse. It wouldn't matter if each strip was the exact same width - but the pattern would still show - and be unique. It would make a unique bag for general craft materials or pretty much anything you want to tote around.

LOVE the wonky tote with the edges!!! Wow...a great reason to go buy fabric, you know??? Just for the edges! :) only sewing this weekend was to finish up lotto blocks. Had to even put away some place mats I'm working on because of a dire need to CLEAN. Yuk. (but..I DID get a buncho crystal wine glasses washed, dried and put back this morning!) ..on to lots less fun stuff for a few days.

I'd forgotten how quickly babies grow. Good thing I made the muslin. DGGD might be able to wear it for 1/2 weeks. I will definitely have to make the actual dress bigger.
